Industrial:

Pressure sensors have been used in industrial applications since their inception. The Industrial market covers a broad scope of applications. Engineers have to consider several parameters to select the appropriate pressure sensor. The desired media of measurement as well as the pressure range has to be determined to begin the sourcing process. All Sensors employs a MEMS pieazoresistive technology housed in a plastic package. Our pressure sensors (transducers) are designed for dry air and gas with a focus on low pressure applications where accuracy and repeatability is a benefit to the customer. Any harsh media or high pressure range will require an engineer to source a more robust package such as a stainless steel device. The following is a few applications where pressure sensors are currently being used.

Envronmental Applications

Environmental applications designed to measure our environmental impact is a hot topic these days. It is becoming more important to reduce our footprint in the environment. Pressure applications consist of portable and stationary weather stations, testing devices for diesel truck emissions, wind energy systems, wind engineering in relation to new construction designs, ocean research, high altitude weather research balloons, water pollution devices, smoke stack mercury sampling, and atmospheric studies.

Technology Applications

The technology market grows by leaps and bounds on an annual basis. Pressure sensors are used not only in today’s technology products but also in the regulation of environments that house our massive data centers across the world. Pressure sensor applications consist of IT center/super computer cooling systems, semiconductor process equipment, laser measurement, as well as clean room monitoring devices.

Manufacturing Applications

The manufacturing industry has been around for centuries. However technology and new equipment has revolutionized the industry. As equipment and computers further evolve our manufacturing processes, pressure measurement plays an increasing role. Pressure sensors are currently used in the follow applications; bottle leak detection, air blades, industrial flow monitoring, gas detection, mine safety instrumentation, industrial degassers, and semiconductor process equipment.
