The desktop manometer was developed
to provide engineers immediate access to pressure sensor data.
This allows engineers to collect data before completing the prototype
process. With the Desktop Manometer an engineer can specify the
necessary sensor and immediately start collecting data off their
PC or Laptop.
Software Features
The software provides the appearance of a full-fledged, instrument-grade manometer
without the cost of such hardware. There are three display regions to the
manometer: the Menu, Configuration Display and the Instrument Panel. The
Menu is used to save and load instrument configurations as well as select
hardware features. The Configuration Display shows the currently loaded configuration.
The Instrument Panel provides Display Units and charts, sensor Sampling Controls,
Operating Mode Controls, a Digital Display and the ability to store, track
and chart Data.
Hardware Features
The Desktop Manometer Kit includes a pressure sensor with both
RS232 and USB interface cables for use with a Windows XP/2K
compatible PC/OS. In the near future, a wireless option
will be available. Pressure ranges from ¼ inch water full
scale to 150 psi are available. A standard, high-accuracy barometer
version is also available. The output of the sensors is 12
to 14 bits. Pressure sensors with special compensation are
available, including temperature-compensated ranges of -20ºC
to +85ºC and -40ºC to +125ºC, and higher accuracy.
